Scotto Family Cellars announces new hires thanks to increasing sales of its USA Cabernet, Rare Blends and Scotto Family Cellars brands.

Lodi, CA (May 2019) – Not only does Scotto Cellars’ USA Cabernet fuel patriotism, but it fuels growth for the company. A surge in sales of the new USA Cabernet brand coupled with continued strong sales of the winery’s Rare Blends and Scotto Family Cellars labels, means that the fifth-generation Lodi-based family winery has hired two industry veterans to keep up with demand.

The USA Cabernet brand has seen immediate growth since its introduction in January. Large wine stores like the Texas-based Spec’s, Cost Plus World Market, Midwest chain Hei-nen’s, and Southeastern chain The Fresh Market have all ordered it. USA Cabernet is a smooth, bold, well-balanced cabernet sauvignon crafted by winemaker Paul Scotto to pair well with regional American cuisine such as New York strip steak, Texas BBQ and New Orle-ans Gumbo.

Josh Parkinson and Vince Montero, two experienced wine industry sales managers, have joined the company to help the Scotto Cellars brands continue their rapid expansion on the West Coast.

“The West Coast represents over a third of the wine business in the US,” commented Bill Chenault, Scotto Cellars’ national sales manager. “With the addition of these two seasoned industry veterans, we are now able to capitalize on the huge potential USA Cabernet repre-sents. The expectations are high, but so is the caliber of the talent!”

With a proven track record of doubling the sales and distribution network for a prominent Willamette Valley winery, Parkinson brings his extensive knowledge of the intricacies of sell-ing wine in various markets and trade channels throughout the country. He also possesses a great deal of experience on the other side of wine sales from owning his own wine store and distributing company. Parkinson is based in Portland, Oregon.

Southern California-based Vince Montero leverages his extensive sales management and chain headquarters experience gleaned from years at Young’s Market Company and South-ern Wine & Spirits to fuel Scotto Cellars’ growth to the south. His 11-year tenure at the Lucky/Albertson’s grocery chain provides the retail perspective needed for successfully en-tering new markets.
