Local wine is produced in a climate that is cooled by wind and fog from the San Pablo Bay. But the weather is still quite warm compared to many other wine regions in the state. The Napa side of Los Carneros has a number of warmer microclimates than the Sonoma side. While Pinot Noir and Chardonnay still thrive here, Merlot and Syrah also have a significant presence.
