Sebastopol, CA (November 15, 2017) – Last week, winemaker Paul Hobbs acquired a 45-acre cabernet sauvignon vineyard, located four miles northeast of the town of Healdsburg along the Russian River, in the heart of the Alexander Valley American Viticultural Area. Situated in the southern narrows of the Alexander Valley, the site has a peak elevation of 185 feet, with a gentle downward slope to 160 feet, while overlooking the southwest bank of the Russian River. The alluvial soils are composed of free draining Cortina gravelly loam and Zamora silty clay loam, and are particularly well-suited for growing cabernet sauvignon vines.
