LOS ANGELES (Nov. 8, 2023) – Red Bear Winery, the family-owned California wine label launched in May 2022 by entrepreneur Sam Jordan in partnership with his father, Wayne Jordan, has released its third vintage Cabernet Sauvignon.
Crafted in the Alexander Valley region of Sonoma County by local winemaker Drew Damskey, Red Bear Winery’s 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and expressive. Judicious use of oak heightens the delicate soft fruit 2020’s temperate growing season offered. Bottled in July of 2022, the 2020 Red Bear is smooth and balanced. Tasting notes include: delicate rose petal, black raspberry, mulled blueberry, dried cedar and chocolate covered cherry.
“For the 2020, we added a Cab Franc to the blend that really lifted the florals and added some perfume. It’s always nice to have the dark and extracted fruit tones, but backed by exotic florals ” shares Damskey of the vintage.
When Sam Jordan launched the family-owned wine label, the limited edition first vintage was only available online at Red Bear Winery to ship across the continental U.S. The 2020 vintage will not only be available online at Red Bear Winery but also will be carried at Adams Wine Shop in Los Angeles for in-person purchase. It will also be on the wine menu at High 5ive Rooftop Bar in Oakland and at Olivetta, a restaurant in West Hollywood where Jordan is a partner.
“I am so proud to release our third vintage of Red Bear Winery. The 2020 bottle is, in my opinion, our best one yet and I am excited for wine enthusiasts and California Cab lovers to experience it. This wine is what I’ll be sipping on and gifting all through the year” Sam Jordan, co-founder Red Bear Winery, shares.
Red Bear’s Drew Damskey is celebrated for his craft and award-winning wines as a third-generation winemaker in the Sonoma area. The label’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon scored 90 points from Wine Enthusiast. Red Bear Winery is one of the less than 1% Black-owned wineries in America.
