Tickets Selling Briskly for Sonoma County’s Premier Wine and Food Event
(Sonoma County, CALIF.) —Wine lovers who don’t already have tickets to Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch® set for Saturday, August 31, 2013, should get online and order, and soon. Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch in Healdsburg, California, now one of the wine world’s most popular consumer events, is held annually as part of Sonoma Wine Country Weekend which is presented by Visa Signature®.
“Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch has evolved into an expansive day-long experience that provides attendees with a taste of the wine and food culture of Sonoma County,” said Maureen Cottingham, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend Co- Director, “The opportunity to taste more than 200 Sonoma County wines from fifteen different appellations while also enjoying offerings from Sonoma chefs and food purveyors is something that simply doesn’t happen anywhere else, ever.”
Kate MacMurray is the honorary host of Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch which takes place on the historic property and vineyard site that her father, the late actor Fred MacMurray, purchased decades ago. In addition to the thousands of Sonoma County wines and foods available for tasting that day, attendees also receive an added perk. Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch is the only time every year that members of the public are invited to experience the private estate. This is an especially fitting treat this year as the 2013 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend Honorary Winery Co-Chairs are Sonoma County vintner leaders The Gallo Family, which now own the MacMurray Ranch property.
Interested in attending? Don’t wait. According to organizers, tickets to the event have become some of the hottest tickets in wine country, selling faster this year than at any time in the past. “Sonoma Wine Country Weekend continues to bring the best of Sonoma into the spotlight,” said Honore Comfort, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend Co-Director, “Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch offers the best of Sonoma County wine and food along with an array of additional events and activities that take place throughout the day including seminars, the Sonoma Steel Chef Competition, a harvest Crush Pad and personalized Sommelier Stars Tours, as well as a few new surprises.” Guests who purchase a Grand Reserve ticket can also enjoy access to an exclusive tasting of limited-release wines, preferred event seating, and other benefits.
A quartet of Sonoma County wine and culinary leaders, selected for their professional success and outstanding community service, have been named as Honorary Chairs. The 2013 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend Honorary Co-Chairs are Sonoma County vintner leaders The Gallo Family as the Winery Co-Chairs and grower Phil Coturri, Enterprise Vineyards, as the Grower Co-Chair. Culinary community leader Sondra Bernstein, proprietor of the girl & the fig, is the Culinary Chair and Bruce Riezenman of Park Avenue Catering returns as the Culinary Director. These leaders are personally lending their support to fund the future. To date, more than $11 million has been invested in Sonoma County’s future, with additional economic impact through increased tourism and sales.
