Woof ‘n Rose Winery
The first vineyard was planted in 1995 with a very few Zinfandel and Petite Sirah ‘cuttings’ from Temecula. The next year approximately half an acre of Merlot was added along with some Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot is still producing but the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah are almost gone, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is very limited.
In 2003 3/4 acres of Cabernet Franc was planted and in 2004 3/4 acres of Grenache Noir was added. The vineyard now produces primarily Cabernet Franc and Grenache Noir on grafted rootstock.
In 2009 both Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet were planted to enhance our Bordeaux style wine and our Grenache programs; Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon were planted in 2010 to finish off these programs. Current total vine count varies around 1800 (depending on pests) and occupies almost 3 acres of the total 5 acre property.
