Cedar Crest Vineyards and Winery is nestled in the foothills of Mt. Lassen, in Manton, California and boasts the bounty of grapes grown in volcanic soils. Cedar Crest became a federally bonded winery in 2009 and opened the tasting room on Valentines Day 2011.
Cedar Crest planted their 4 acre vineyard in spring of 2008. The vineyard produces Petite Sirah, Viognier, Cabernet Souvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Tempranillo on south/southwest facing slopes. The elevation is about 2800 ft. and irrigation is via a drip emitter at each plant plus frost protection sprinklers. The rich volcanic soil provides a great growing environment. In a typical year, bud break is in May and harvest is in October.
